CLEANING AND CARING FOR YOUR TINTED WINDOWS
|
A slightly hazy or milky appearance and water bubbles, caused by water between the film and the glass, may be evident for a few days after application.
Do not be concerned as it will evaporate, disappear and the film will become optically clear. The Amount of time this takes will depend on the position of the window and if it receives much sunlight to assist in drying out. This is also for “opaque and frosted films” which can some times take a few weeks to dry out and lose that streaky look from where we have squeegeed the film.
Do not clean the film for three weeks, as the material requires this time for curing. |

A soft damp cloth or chamois is recommended for general cleaning with the use of a mild dishwashing liquid or a similar shampoo such as Johnson’s Baby Shampoo diluted down in a spray bottle or bucket to remove greasy marks. Use just clear water for a clear finish and wipe with a dry soft paper towel (not news paper) to remove all streaks.
Do not use “Windex” or other ammonia based or strong chemical products from shops or home based shopping.
Do not use abrasive cloths, brushes or powders on your film.
Do not use sticky tape on your windows or any other gummed products such doubled sided tape, Blue tack or spray any aerosol sprays onto the film.
A few small particles or “points” may remain. They are generally visible only from the outside and are inherent to film adhesives. These points or light reflections do not affect the heat, glare, or fade reduction performance of the film in anyway.
The small border around the edges ensures that the film is properly sealed and bonded to the glass. It also helps with expansion and contraction on hot and cold days. Please do not pick at the edges of the film.
Your tinted windows will give you years ofservice if looked after correctly. You have made a wise investment to reduce the amount of heat, glare and fading to your home/office/car.
So look after your film and it will look after you! |
